My second project will also be presented on the website I have created in the Digital Arts module last term. Last term I worked really hard on my website therefore there isn't really too much for me to improve on because I still see this website as fun and professional. The first thing I needed to change was the date next to the copyright symbol. It is the year 2021 now, so I needed to change 2020 to 2021. It was a minor change and did not change my design in any way.
The next thing I decided to work on, was adding a dropdown menu in my portfolio tab on my website so there is an option to choose between my project from last term and my project I am completing now.
I had to create 2 new pages, the portfolio page from last term needed to switch into 'Give them a chance' since it is a title of the project from last term and I needed to create a new portfolio page which would be a sort of menu of different projects. I have created also a new page for 'Amethyst Planet' so there is place for my new project. I was not sure how to create a dropdown menu at first, but it turned out I needed to click on my menu on the top of the page and click an option 'Manage menu' and manage all the options there - not in navigation.
This is how the menu panel looks on Wix. I needed to connect the pages 'Give them a chance' and 'Amethyst Planet' to the portfolio page so it would create a dropdown menu.
Outside of that I also wanted my portfolio page to be a menu where the user could pick which project they would like to look at. I thought about creating strips with the projects' names and a very short description (1-2 sentences) explaining the main idea of the project, therefore the user would know, what they are going to see if they enter that particular page.
To do that I had to add a strip, actually two strips, since there are two projects. I clicked on the very basic first strip that came up in the menu, because I knew I would be able to customize it. I deleted the picture and changed the background color so it would be in the theme of my website, which is pink. I have also changed the fonts and the text in the the paragraph section. After I made all the changes needed, my portfolio page looked like this:

I personally really like this way of showing a menu. I think it is easy to navigate, especially since the menu bar at the top is pinned to the page. I think it is easy to go to a different place and it is easy to return back to the homepage.
I also decided to look at the mobile version of this page because I did not want there to be any glitches or things that look unappealing. At first one of the strips was a lot bigger than the other, when I changed that, one of the paragraphs explaining the project, disappeared, so I decided to generally get rid of those short descriptions on the mobile version and then lastly the button from the first project, completely blended with the background of the second project.
To solve this problem, I needed to change the placement of the button and make it a little bit higher, so there is no unnecessary blending.
This is how I changed it and I think it looks a lot better. Now the footer on the mobile version is to small - too thin. I will have to widen it.
I am very happy with the changes I have created so far. I will need to make some changes in the text in the 'About me' section and add the gallery in my project from the second term page. There is still a lot to work on, but I am on a right track and I believe that today I did a big chunk of the work that is still left to do.
The site looks good so far - adding the strip as a way of presenting your Introduction is a good idea and gets around the awkwardness of having too much information on one page. The adjustments you made on the mobile view were also good and look as if they are accessible and easy to navigate.
