Final project: initial plan
I know I have a lot to get done with my final project, therefore the sooner I start working on it, the better. Today I concentrated on creating an initial plan for my animation. I decided to answer four main questions: WHERE? (what is the setting?) WHEN? (what is the time? year? era?) WHO? (Who is my main character?) WHAT? (What is the main storyline?)
To answer those questions I have done a little research on places with breed-specific legislation in the United States. I found out that Overland Park, Kansas has enacted a legislation that is unfair to the animals considered dangerous or aggressive. As much as I do not agree with the legislation itself, I do think it is a perfect setting for my animation. To view the Overland Park ordinance click here.
To answer those four questions, I have created a milanote board. I think milanotes are easy to read and they are more clear than a written text I could put on here.
Here is my milanote with the initial plan.
I know I will have to create a more in-depth plan, with exactly explained locations, more characters developed and more visual storyline. After creating a more in-depth plan I will start creating a storyboard for the animation and draw the characters, so I have a reference when drawing them in OpenToonz.
I think, even though I know I am still lacking a lot of information, this is a good start for my final project.
Great planning - very well executed
