Welcome to my blog!
My name is Daria Pieczyńska and I am an Art & Design student at De Montfort University International College. My progression route is animation, because I want to make animated movies.
I am starting this blog to show my work and to be able to reflect on my progress.
When I am not creating art, you can find me wakeboarding in the nearest wakepark or solving math problems in my room, because these two activities are things I enjoy doing.
In the future, I would like to work for the Walt Disney Studios, because my whole life has been shaped by Disney creations and Walt Disney is one of my biggest inspirations.

Walt Disney is my biggest inspiration, because he is a great example of a person who never gave up on their dreams. Walter did not have it easy when he was starting his animation journey, and that may be an understatement.
In 1922 Walt Disney created his first animation studio, "The Laugh-o-Gram Films"."The work Walt Disney did at the Laugh-O-gram Studio set the pattern for his entire amazing career in film production. He made several one-reel animated cartoons there which were based loosely on classic children's fairytales."(Thankyouwaltdisney.org) When Walt Disney was creating his short animations in that studio, he noticed he could not afford paying for the studio and his place to live, so he chose to live at the Laugh-o-Gram Studio. In my opinion, his devotion to what he wanted to do, is incredibly inspiring.
The Laugh-o-Gram Studio bankrupted after creating the "Alice's Cartoonland" 2 years later, but Walt Disney did not give up on his dreams. He packed tapes of "Alice's Cartoonland"to a suitcase and bought a ticket to Los Angeles, California.
In California, Walt Disney created Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and it was a great success. Few years later, he created another hit. "In 1927, just before the transition to sound in motion pictures, Disney and Iwerks experimented with a new character - a cheerful, energetic, and mischievous mouse called Mickey." (Crowther) Mickey Mouse is a very well-known character all around the world and it is no wonder that creating this particular character helped Disney not only financially but also in gaining popularity.
Everyday I am inspired by Walt Disney and his work ethics. Personally I aspire to build that confidence and be as devoted as Disney was.
Walt Disney not only created a great animation studio that is still doing amazing movies and cartoons, but also Disneylands all around the world. His creativity and mind inspires me everyday, and makes me more encouraged to work hard on making my dreams come true.
When I was younger I watched the movie "Walt before Mickey" and that film opened my eyes for how difficult it was for him to create an animation studio, to make the path for future animators. Thanks to everything Disney did for the world of animation, now people working in that alley do not have to struggle so much, because the industry is already so developed.
This is why I see Walt Disney as an inspiration and why I would like to work in his studios one day.

I really do not think that you should use the term 'when I grow up' on an academic student blog! Please remember you are a student at university and you need to present that well in your introduction. I like your enthusiasm for Walt Disney however you need to add some real research and referencing here. Please add this in to this post. The source under your image should have the link to the source so that you can click on this. Please add the URL and keep the text to display as you have it now.
ReplyDeleteMuch improved and much more professional looking - well done!
