Sequential Images: Editing & Finished Product

The third stage of my project was editing. For my editing I used the Fotor Photo Editor software. I like using that software, because I find it very intuitive. My goal was to make the pictures black and white and cropped. I also thought of changing the contrast and maybe adding blur to some of the images.

In Fotor Photo Editor I added a BW3 filter, which is a black and white filter and increased contrast from 0 to 30%.

I added blur to the second picture to make the viewer pay most attention to the lemon, to the fourth picture, to make the honey the most important object in the picture, and to sixth and seventh picture to make faces the most important element. Generally I am really happy with how the pictures turned out after editing, but now I know the honey in the forth picture is barely visible, because it is in a similar tone as its background. I noticed that during the editing stage, therefore to make it more noticeable I blurred the rest of the picture.

I once again used Fotor Photo Editor to put all the pictures together as a collage and add a title to that. I was very inspired by the titles in the Jurgen Klauke work I focused on in my research post. I decided to make the title's font as if it was typed on a typewriter, I researched that the font that looks like a typewriter writing is called Courier. I think it adds to the dramatic aura of my sequence. I also decided to make the text color maroon, also to make it even more dramatic. I did not choose blood red color, because I believe it would be not balanced well and it would be too vibrant compared to the images.

Here is my finished product:

Looking back at what I have created, I think I did a good job, however there is a lot of background area, and the faces are not as visible as I would like them to be. Next time, to improve, I am going to zoom in closer on the faces, and not leave as much blank space as I did here.

  1. The sequence works well - I still think you need to be closer up and you still need to add more technical details. You stated which editor you used but which tools in the editor. Also you should have a little reflection at the end of this post.
